My 12 v lights when plugged into shore power are bright and then will dim for sort period of time then go bright again. Any suggestions.

Welcome to iRV2.

Check the RV battery (ies) , connections , electrolite level , and even take it out for a load test. If the batteries and connections check out , then try to get a voltage read out, at the batteries during the dim period , you could be looking at the earliest signs of a converter/charger failure.

If they are dimming periodically while plugged in I might consider temporarily disconnecting my batteries and seeing if the converter is ok.
At the very least get a multi meter and see if your batteries are being charged correctly

I was having the same problem and it turned out to be a bad dimmer. In fact it had started to melt and was a fire hazard. I replaced the bulbs with LED bulbs and a LED dimmer and it's been fine ever since. I also corrected the polarity of the wiring which had been reversed.

The converter/charger is cycling, causing the voltage to rise/lower. That is usually a sign of bad battery(s). When the battery is bad, e.g. shorted internally, the attempt to charge it takes most all the converter/charger power output and the voltage falls. Then the charger quits charging to avoid overload and the voltage rises again. The after a brief time, the charger makes another attempt top bring the battery up and the process repeats.
