Dismantling Trim

Just checking to see if anyone has any experience dismantling this two layer trim. We had a slide out tragedy and now I have some repair work to do. The trim around the fridge ripped clean off.

It appears the trim is two layers, one which gets screwed into place and then a second layer adhered to it. HAs anyone peeled that top layer off? Any idea what they use for adhesive? Will heating it in advance help?

Any advise you can provide is appreciated! The trim came off whole so I don’t want to risk breaking any as I work to separate it.

I will quickly answer my own question in case it assists someone else. The top layer of the trim is only pinned on with 1/2” brads. This 6ft piece had 8 brads in it, so a putty knife was all I needed to lift and separate the long piece of trim.

The corner piece was not as easy to separate, so I decided not to. The original screws still provided quite a bit of bite just by pushing them into the original holes, so I added a layer of double sided tape to remount the corner piece.

I have had good luck with hot glue on these types of repairs.
