I always carry a shotgun in our M/H. When we stay at truck stops, rest areas, etc. I lock and load. I probably will never use it and hope I never have a reason to but I feel better with it ready to go when needed. We have camped since the late 1950's and always had it with us.

Count us in the yes column. I have carried both a pistol and a pump shotgun. I have stopped carrying the pistol even tho I have a permit in my home state, there are too many states where it is not recognized and one can get into deep trouble ex. NJ. There is nothing like the sound of the slide of a shotgun being racked to get the attn of the bad guys. I removed the stock and replaced it with a pistol grip and the barrel was shortened to a legal 18-1/4" so it is very easy to store and carry in the RV.

Count me in the yes column. LarryM, just a word of caution. Just because the barrel is legal length by federal standards doesn't make a shotgun legal. A lot of states, including mine, passed laws dictating the overall length at 32 or more inches. That makes your standard pump illegal if you put a pistol grip on it. That having been said, I still carry a pump with the pistol grip.

Count us in the ALWAYS ALWAYS (did I say ALWAYS?)

We wouldnt even consider traveling without them (2 .357 Rugers)

We both have CHL's.

We simply REFUSE to travel (and spend $) in states that dont allow us to protect ourselves. Nor do we wish to call a "uniformed report taker" and depend on them to do what nature tells us is our responsibility.

Winchester Defender, short barrel 12 Ga with 8 shot magazine containing #4 shot. Kept in locked case under bed and will come out only if stalled half way between nowhere and elsewhere. Hope to God that I never have to use it but will if we feel threatened. I will let someone steal everything I own before I shoot them, (that is why I have insurance) but if I or my wife is physically threatened that is a different story.
