I thought we were happy UNTIL I retired. Spent 4 days together and SHE went back to work to stay away from me. HA Now that's a marriage. Been fine for the last 14 years. I really hate to go on a trip and leave her at home. NOT. She's happy when I'm gone. I hope if she's cheating on me it's with somebody I don't know. I wouldn't want to do that to someone I like

I stumbied onto my high school sweetheart and we wound up getting married. That was 28 years ago. She had 3 little girls at the time so I wound up with an instant family. My wife is the most spectacular woman I have ever met. She loves me, we don't fight, she's a great cook, we have so much in common, she handles the financial end and does a great job at it, and she is still drop dead gorgeous.
As far as the MH, she drives and I do all the maintenance. When it comes time to back it in we have a set of two way voice actuated radios with head sets that we use. Once the coach is in place she turns off the key and says she's done. We are old hands at having RV's. She had experience with cabover campers and I had a MH prior to our getting back together. Since then we have had four MHs, a 'C' and 3 "As". The latest is a 30" Storm gasser that sleeps only 2.
She even loves our 70 Chevelle and hammers it a lot harder than I do.
We do our best to spoil each other and it seems to work for us. I can't imagine being with another woman and she feels the same about other men. I'm a lucky guy and I'm fortunate enough to realize it. I have 4 months before I retire and can't wait to spend some time with her seeing some new things.
It seems to me that some people get pretty wrapped up in looking for that perfect mate when they really should be looking for the one that is perfect for them.

You are one lucky guy! Glad to have you in the club!

I always reset the clock
Been married for 29+ years to a great woman. But she could not be ready on time if her, mine and all the kids lives depended on it. So being the smart one, I have learned that not only do I tell her that we need to leave 1 hour earlier than needed, I also reset the clocks the night before 1/2 hour fast. Now almost 1/3 of the time we leave only 15 minutes late. Some say I have the patients of Jobe, truth is I don't have the patients to look for another. Just glad to be waking up on the right side of the grass. Life is too short to sweat the small S%$#.
Smile like you mean it..

When she was telling ME what brand of Blue Jeans to buy for myself, that was it. Devorced her, and never looked back, I do not have to wait for anyone, have to answer to anyone, and do not have to listen to anyone. Now if I choose to take a honey along for a ride that is another matter, they all come with an appitite, an empty plate, and think sex and companionship will make up for it, and most need someone else's retirement plan.

DW and I will be married 11 years this year. (Only ones in our generation from either fmily to get and stay married so far, although her brother was recently married and I feel they will have a long and strong marriage.)
We have a few things in common, but my love of the outdoors isn't one of em! That's where the TT comes in, she'll put up with my idea of fun as long as she has somewhere comfortable to do it! As for all the differences, we love the fact that we each do our own thing. She loves to go to clubs with her friends and 'people watch', and I hate crowds, so I never resent her going without me. I love fishing and she is perfectly happy not being included in it. Win-win
The only arguments we have ever had were about money, and we've solved that now, so life is good... for us, our happy marriage comes from finding that balance of being together while having our space along with a lot of open and honest communication.

I can't remember that last time I bought a pair of pants for myself! Clothes show up in my closet and I wear them. She says I look good in em and thats all that matters to me. Nobody else has to like the way I look, and she keeps taking me home at the end of the night so...

It's opposite for me. I suggest a place to go, he procrastinates about deciding on if and when. I plan all the meals, reservations, plan plan plan. He drives and gets things ready at the last minute. After 40 years, I finally figured him out. He likes to collect things but not use them. He's spectator for the most part. I like doing things.
We do have a good time once we go someplace.

Reading a Perry Mason Mystery
The man has testified to the ringing of a doorbell
His wife then testifies to the ringing of the bell
The current resident of the apartment in which the bell is supposed to have rang testifies he put the bell in when he moved in post-murder, there was a buzzer before that.
Mason gets the prosecution to produce the alarm clock, which rings in the exact manner they claim the doorbell rang.
She says she's now sure it was the clock she heard.
He is recalled to the stand:
And do you now say it was an Alarm Clock?
"Well, I'm sure not going to contradict my wife's testimony!!!!!
