Yes I have a wife for 47 years now. My Mom and Dad were married 63 years and God willing we hope to surpass them.

Will soon hit 56 years of marriage to a great woman. We had motorhomes from 1971-1984, sailboats from 1984-2000, motorhomes again since 2000. She helped sail the boats, drove our motorhomes until arthritis came into the picture a few years ago which made it uncomfortable for her to drive. We always worked as a team, would do it all over again in a heart beat.

Happily married for more than 27 years. We are best friends. My parents just celebrated their 68th anniversary. I'd like to get that far.

I agree %100" only difference is that the gents have a larger group to select from.
It's like selecting vegetables at the fruit market"
There is the big counter with a lot of choises where a person can pick out the bad ones and avoid them'
Then theres the small counter with only a few choises, and theres not as many good ones to chose from.
Sometimes, you pick what you thought was a blemish free product, but when you get it home you discover that the rotten spot was hidden and you didn't see it; happens a lot these days, when the divorce rate is nearly %50.
Also in the same article in the paper it said the divorce rate jumped ofter the couple had been married over 40 years; odd:

I have a question - has she ever planned a trip and you leave on her time? If so, was it any different? If not, have you asked her to plan the trip?

this is a thread of no value. I see nothing but bitterness and vitriol. It is not about RVing, only using the RV life style as a frame to hang complaints of unfaithfulness, bitterness and being miserable on. Members are trying to change the flavor but that seems to be impossible and it keeps getting brought back to bitter statements and having been wronged in a relationship.
Somehow I keep hoping that it will change and have something to do with the stated purpose of our site but that has not happened. I want to ask and say, "do you want cheese with that whine?" and "get over it, you are a big boy".
If I am wrong then delete this post, but I think most members are just too nice to say it - I am not that nice obviously and sometimes things need to be said for the good of the group.

Sometime its difficult based on the first post to determine the twists and turns a thread will take after 90 posts. Members on this forum actually like each other and with that comes a trust and respect of other members opinions which results in some unexpected subject matter. As long as the subject matter is within the rules it will be allowed. In the past we have allow subjects that have resulted in the thread being shut down because the turn resulted in a violation of our rules but mostly because the conversation turned disrespectful and uncivil. We want members to share their opinions as long as it's done in a civil and respectful manner.

''iRV2.com General Discussion (14 Viewing)
This forum is for topics related to RV'ing which DO NOT fit the other forums.''
With respect to all and especially Doc and butterbean I feel the ''topic'' Do you have a wife..... fits the forum perfectly. I have re read most of the comments posted and most of them refer to RV travel and preparation for trips and our wives participating in the perpetration for same. True, some of the marriages were not made in Heaven so to speak but such is life. None of us agree with our wives/husbands all the time and that does not make one ''right'' and the other ''wrong'', it just makes up human nature. We are not all cast from the same mold nor do we see life like all others .
I personally have been married twice. My first wife liked to camp and the excitement of the road was her cup of tea. She died in my arms from a brain aneurism after 43 years of marriage.
My second wife Willa kept me from ''eating the gun'' and gave me cause to live. She loves camping in all its forms and she loves me. Need I say more?
On here I saw that some are not so lucky as me when it comes to picking mates. I think it goes back to the saying concerning un paved roads back in the twenties..............
''CHOOSE YOUR RUT WISELY, YOU ARE GOING TO BE IN IT FOR A LONG TIME''........
Nuff said for now.
Respects to all
Thank a vet .... ALL GAVE SOME ..... SOME GAVE ALL ....

two part question
Two part answer
#1 answer is yes, she would plan a trip
#2 answer is no she would not be ready
Here might be why shes not ready"
I went out to the motorhome yesterday to clean it out, heres what I carred in the house,
Enough change of cloths to last a month without haveing to wash any, (that is if you put on everything clean every day. (her cloths)
#39 cans of various soups and vegetables.
Baking goods to make at least 6 pies and cakes.
A sewing machine and enough cloth materal to make clothes for a small army.
6 pares of shoes.
I'm tired typing and I am going to stop here.
I must add:
Books (20) would take several months to read them all.

Some of these posts are very sad, some enlightening, some are very funny, overall this is a Good thread.
So far my wife has made it through 10 years of being married to me and raising our three kids (twin 6 year olds and a 3 year old), she's a real trooper. God bless her, she's gonna need it! Luckily, we are both very punctual people and we all love to go Camping. Life is good.
