I want to start this by saying I am a dog lover, so don't shoot me.

I certainly hope that all of you that leave dogs in your RV check to make sure that they in fact do behave appropriately.

I have had a half dozen or more weekend get a ways ruined by people that leave their dog and go to the beach, or to town, and their precious darlings barked or howled constantly the whole time they were gone. I am not talking about when someone came close to the RV either. I am talking about sometimes hours and hours of non stop aggravation.

The worst part is when the owners return and you try to mention it nicely to them, most cop an attitude.

We leave our 2 dogs in ours when we can’t take them with us. Leave music on low so they don’t hear others outside. Been doing it for years. Many times our neighbors are surprised when they see the dogs outside after a couple days at park, as they had no idea we had them.

Yes, good to point that out.
Sadie and I where hosting. I left her in the camper while I used the CG laundry. Park manager found me waiting on the dryer "Why are you hiding from me?" What? "I knocked on your door, heard you move, but you never answered" When? "20 minutes ago" How long to wash a load of clothes? Sadie must need to potty.
Our currant master, whines when I leave her. Not loud, but bothers DW, f nobody else. Or last trip, I get up and dressed, we go for short walk, I get shower bag out of TV, put her in. I get back, her out of truck, make and drink coffee while daylight comes. After 3 days, she would pull towards camper after potty. She would not wake DW, so I didn't get in trouble.

Occasionally, we leave a recorder on while we are away so we can see if the dog makes a racket when we aren't there. So far so good. I don't know why folks with dogs think everyone else likes their dog as much as they do.

Longest is about 2 hours with heat or air con running. We carry a collapsible crate and put her in that.

Need to read this with an annoying high pitched “baby talk” / “sing song” voice

Oh, little bumpkins, he’s such a good little doggy. I just don’t know what got in to him, he’s never done that before, he doesn’t even bark when we leave him alone in the RV for hours on end

I’m thinking “bark collars” for owners that are linked to a transmitter on the dog. Attached to both dog and owner (like those anklets that paroles have to wear) when checking in to the campground. When the dog barks, the owner gets a spray of some offensive odor or shocked.

Of course, most importantly, it must be WiFi/Bluetooth/Celluar so when the owner is away they get sprayed too. Some owners would have to carry gallons of spray and / or a solar powered battery bank as big as Prevosts have.......

Yep, getting pretty fed up with the never ending, incessantly yapping dogs at campgrounds and in our S&B community. Don’t even get me going on the totally out of control dogs my brother and his wife have .

Oh, I know don’t blame the dogs . And I did grow up with dogs in our home, like dogs in general, but......

We leave our 2 pups in our coach with a little music on and the door unlocked. And try not to be away more than a few hours. They are sooo happy to see us

This is what we do with our 2 doxies.
The older one will jump on the dinette table, even though he knows that he's not supposed to, and bark at other dogs in CGs.
We've ask neighbors if he bothered them, and they said that they never even heard him!

One of the worst times we ever had at a Casino RV Park were because of dogs being left in a motorhome.
Naturally they were parked on the porch side of us, the owners pulled in, opened every window then jumped on the shuttle and headed for the casino.
These 2 little hellions spent the next 6 hours running from end to end, window to window barking at anything and everything. It was horrible.

If you are going to leave pets in a RV even for a little while please be aware of the possible effects on your neighbors.

We leave our two in the coach fenced in a bit to keep them from some areas. Then also leave the AC/Heat on and gen. set to auto start if power goes out.

I could see where some larger dogs could be a problem like the photo...
