One year we traveled with 2 Shih Tzu's, 2 Cats and 3 Turtles. Now it's down to the 2 Shih Tzu's. And no smoking.

Do you travel with a pet?

I have lasapese. Part Lasa Apso part Maltese. He stays in the crate while I'm driving, but is free to run about the house when I'm parked.

I feel sorry for your German Shepherd.

Great to see all the pictures of peoples pets. We will be taking three twenty something pound dogs and possibly a cat.

We take our 5 dogs, yes that is 5, with us. 3 of them are labs, a white lab, a chocolate lab, and a yellow lab. 1 is a boxer mix and the last one is a hound. The hound is the oldest at 15, newest to the family, and sleeps next to the driver's seat as I'm driving. The chocolate lab and the yellow lab are both 8 years old, they lay on the couch. The boxer mix is 7 and will bounce back and forth from the love seat and the floor. The white lab is 14 and lays on the floor. All but one are females. The yellow lab is the only male. Once we are parked, they will go wherever.

The main reason we got a class A was so we can take our dogs to shows. Staying in different motels just made them uneasy whereas the R.V. is “home”Click image for larger version

German Shorthaired Pointer. We thought he might be a problem but as long as he gets to play fetch for a few minutes once a day he is fine. Stays in our camp when we are stopped. Very obedient. Loves everybody he meets. Sleeps or looks out the window while in motion and has to stop to pee a lot less than I do. All in all a very good traveling companion.

Yes-one dog

We’ve had Standard Poodles for many many years and all but current loved traveling (she hates it—and barks at anything out of ordinary). We added a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel several years ago and she’s a great traveler. Sadly Molly the 12 yo SP has to be kenneled. We’ve met so many with mostly dogs in our travels—Gemma goes to restaurants, any place dogs are permitted and is quiet and happy and fun to have with us-and always an ice breaker.

Always take the cats

Tiger would much rather be traveling than be at home. She would sleep in the front window on a pillow. She passed away last year.
I have 2 new kittens who are my travel companions. They do not leave the coach when traveling. The trick is to get them traveling when they are kittens. They have a great window that they live to look out and sleep next too.
