Do you use gloves when handling sewer hose?

We've been in a campground for two weeks with full hook ups and the dump station visible from our site. There's been a lot of coming and going of RVs, and I've noticed, almost everyone isn't using gloves when handling their sewer hose. Do you use gloves?

No I do not use gloves, I have wipes and soap to use with my shower head in the wet bay to wash my hands afterwards.

Using gloves would indicate to me that your hose is leaking and need to be repaired.

Also using gloves would indicate that you are very cautious.

Nope.....
Gloves interfere with holding my sandwich/cigar

Seriously.....NO
'WE' added the contents to the waste tanks so I am not handling septic waste systems from unknown sources

As my Mama told me....."Young man---WASH your HANDS"

Simple.........

No, never have.

They’re fine if you’re squeamish, but really not needed. Although unpleasant, there really isn’t anything in there that will hurt you - at least when the occupants are from the same household. Remember, other than the paper and water, everything in the tank went in your mouth first!

I do wash well afterwards, wear my “work clothes”, and try to schedule things so I can take my daily shower right after.

Regards,

Randy

I didn't to start with, but then I watched a few people dribble and splurt their "stuff" around the receptacle area. As said above, my own "stuff" isn't going to hurt me, but I have no idea what horrid wasting tropical diseases those others might have. "Stuff" is one of the main infection vectors for Hepatitis A, which is nasty.

Also, they make my hands look pretty.

Love the first sentence!

As many times I have been inside sewer manholes (woops sorry, "Personnel Access Chambers") to measure sewage flow with nothing but street clothing and hip waders, or manhandled 4" trash pump hoses to bypass a clogged sewer line, or been down in a muddy stinking sewer trench trying to get a broken pipe out and a install a replacement, I'm probably immune to just about anything! I've handled much worse than my clean RV sewer hose.

No gloves more either. Wash hands when done. I get a kick out of those that feel the need to rinse out the inside of the sewer hose with fresh water?
It's a sewer hose, how clean does it need to be?

When I attach my hose to the coach or use the dump station I always have the gloves on. If I have sewer at the site I will pull the slides without gloves, but I won’t touch the hose.

Nope. There is no sewage on the outside of my dump hose and I don't put my hands inside it. I wash my hands when I'm done and believe that to be good enough.

I don't wear gloves but I do rinse out the slinky before I stow it. It reduces the odor.

Just clean enough so it doesn't smell when it gets hot.

When I remember, I work on dirty things including plumbing at work. I always wash after and now a days use sanitizer constantly.

Anyone double glove? I saw one guy put on a pair of disposable gloves, then a large elbow length rubber gloves on top. When he was done dumping, he took off the large rubber gloves and rinsed them off and stowed them with the sewer hose, then he took off and tossed the disposable gloves in the nearby trashcan.
