Dometic 8700 water level

2017 Dutchstar with a Dometic 8700

My toilet bowl seems to be losing water. Any ideas how to fix a leaking seal or mechanism that allows the water to drain out of the bowl.

Mine did that after sitting for a couple months. I poured Dawn dish detergent around the ball valve almost to the top of the ball valve, then put about a quart of hot water over that and let sit overnight. Holds water again. I do this every Time it sits for any length of time.

It's the same mechanism as a Sealand Masterflush, which is now sold under the Dometic brand name.

Hi Golfer Guy,
How did you fix your problem?
We just had our macerator and motor replaced on our 8700 and now all of a sudden the water level in the bowl goes down. In six hours the water level is down into the top of the neck in the bottom of the bowl.
You had one response about using Dawn, but I doubt that solution was used on an 8700. Sounded more like a regular gravity toilet.
We drive a 2014 DutchStar 4360.
Thanks,
Sam

I believe the issue when they won't hold water is the duck bill, part#15 in the diagram, it either has something holding the duck bill open (debris), or it has gone bad.
