Domicile Help?

I am looking to go fulltime in 18 months with my wife who will be 52 than.I have medical coverage thru my employer. We currently live in Minnesota and I was considering using South Dakota as our domicile once we went to full timing. However, folks have been saying that South Dakota and medical coverage is a problem. What do you think?Any advice, and does anyone have experience with using Florida as a domicile and how is obtaining medical coverage there compared to South Dakota?
Thnks for any input!
Forgot to mention I am 59 retired and have medical.

You'll need to check a few more things than just medical. Income and personal property taxes, vehicle registration fees, auto insurance, driver's license, and residency requirements, are just a few of the things to consider. Many firms offer post office boxes and mail services for 'easy' establishment of residency, check very carefully before making a move. A dollar saved in one category may cost more in another one.

I don't know a lot about S. Dakota. However, I can expound on FL. Vs NC. We moved! You can establish a domicile in FL. But you must have a permanent address and a FL. Drivers liscense. There are many eloborate questions and documents we had to present but it was not an issue as we purchased property in the state. If using just a PO box as an address its a bit more difficult. There have been many posts on this topic over the years on the forum. A quick search, will I'm sure, bring a lot of information. We pay the same for property tax as NC but no personal income tax, no personal property tax, ie: MH this alone drove us out of NC. There are still ways to establish domicile w/o buying real property but it's been fifteen years since we went sailing and used the PO box residency. Come on down the weathers fine!
