Drawer hardware problems
I've replaced these twice, and in another drawer also.
I think the grandkids pulled the drawer out to climb up to see what we had in the overhead cabinets.
Is there a better way besides replacing the drawer slides?
These are PITA to change out!
Thanks!

It's a drawer, not a step stool.
Big box stores have several different styles of slides that are better quality than the factory ones.

No RV cabinets are going to stand up to being used as a ladder. If you put in stronger slides, the cabinet walls will collapse. I would repair these as they are and get a stepstool. Good Luck DR

RVers29325, here is a link to a different style (1 piece) that might be a little robust, but like DR60 said, these may hold up better, but now something else may be the failure point.
Check the measurements of your slides before purchasing.
Being 1 piece, you may have to drill new mounting holes in the cabinet back:

Off topic but if they're using drawers to climb that needs to be stopped or there's a possibility they will end up under a dresser or cabinet that isn't correctly anchored.

I stopped using those plastic pieces of garbage in my cabinet business.
The full extension drawer slides use the same clearances (1/2") each side.
Blocks installed on the sides to fasten the slide to is FAR stronger than those things.
You can even go to soft close self closing slides for a few dollars more.

Stronger slides and attachment is like using a $3 grade 8 bolt to hold 2 pieces together that cost $300 ea. Sure bolt won't break, then the $300 pieces will.
Wonder what's difficult about educating grandkids?

Are the slides getting damaged or are the fasteners pulling out? If it's fasteners there's no point in buying different guides. You can use the toothpick trick or maybe drill out the holes in the fasteners a little and use thicker screws. Otherwise I too suggest use of the tool illustrated above.

I'm thinking it was 13yo boy that did the broken drawer, also leaned back on the toilet lid and got it stuck under the window ledge. Then.... we noticed burn holes in the outdoor mat and thought the grill was blowing embers on it till we noticed the 10yo girl had a stick in the fire, poking holes in the mat and enjoyed watching the plastic curl up. There's a couple more agonizing moments. We took them home the next day, 2 days early.
The sad thing is I think we were just like them at that age. My Daddy would say 'you're paying for your raising'.
But the on the other side, we have 2 little angels.
I like taking them to get hairs and school shoes or breakfast dinner... but I tell the 3, I can't take all 3 of you at one time, y'all are like fuel, heat and oxygen. If I take all 3 of you at one time I get FIRE and get burned so I usually take the girls one weekend and the boy the next.
Sometimes I take them out, just so I can bring them home early if they misbehave. That makes for a quite ride back home.
TTYL Later,
Phil
