E-plex System

I have a 2011 Newmar Essex. This is the second time I have had an issue with the e-plex system. The first was a black tank sensor. After hiring a contortionist to remove and replace it I was amazed that it carried a $700 price tag. Also it was difficult to deal with as the only company that supports this product only deals with you by internet support.

Today after some system failures I was told my entire system is basically shot. I know nothing lasts for ever but when Newmar discontinued the e-plex system there should have been some reasonable replacement for parts or the whole system to the consumer, or better yet a warning that when my coach was purchased in 2011 that its e-plex system was obsolete as I drove it off the lot.

Replacement figures are ridiculous, what do you do? Punt?

What you do is the only thing you can do. Replace each item that eplex controls with a native controller. Starting with the AC system.

You need to get a Dometic 5 button thermostat and connect it to the AC comm cable behind the e-plex screen. That will make your coach somewhat usable.

See my profile and review my posts about eplex. My 2006 coach has all systems (except AGS and power monitoring/management) migrated away from eplex .

Once the ACs are working, you will need to get a new tank monitor system (see level), and a new controller for the magnum inverter.

More of this kind of discussion is appropriate over in the Newmar forum. No one else will understand what eplex is.
