Electric Awning

We bought our TT this year and it came with an electric awning. Awning works great and is extremely convenient. I have never had an electric awning and there is one thing that I have a question about. When the awning is closed, the front arm is tight against the trailer. The rear arm still has about a 1/2 inch from being closed tightly. Is this normal? Another question - I used to wrap Velcro straps around the awning arms on my old TT. Since the electric awning arms are flush mounted against the trailer, is there anything I can do for added protection against the awning coming out while driving?

The awning should close completely so there is some adjustments that need to be made.
No need to add anything to help hold the tube from unrolling. The motor assmy will not allow it to roll out with out power to the motor to do so.

Electric Awning

We had a similar situation on our electric awning. Took it to the dealer and all they did was spray WD40 on moving parts and closed it a few times pushing the arm in completely. That was it. Works fine since then.

It's not really unusual. Just give the rear arm a shove to close it up completely. Maybe put some dry silicone lube on the parts that rub together as it closes and see if that helps.
