Electrically heated floor mat

Is any one using one to heat the area if your RV where you would do the most standing ir sitting ?

I am thinking about a portable/non-permanent mat, something just to keep your feet warm. Not enough power to warm your full RV. Certainly more expensive than 1 or 2 electric heaters, but perhaps less power because you are basically just warming your feet.

Nah. I could buy a lot of fuzzy slippers for the price of those heated floor mats.

Haven't used one, but friends had heated floors in their coach and loved it. But that's a lot more heat than most small pads supply. The ones I see advertised are 250-400 watts, so barely foot-warmers and yielding surface temperatures in the 75-80 degree range if the floor itself is not too cold. So depending on your expectations, maybe ok, maybe not.

Not sure what you have in mind - maybe in front of the galley sink or your favorite chair? Is that better than a space heater that warms the whole area (but more wattage). Are you trying to keep the power consumption down, like maybe a concern in a 30A RV? Small electric heaters are 100% efficient (every watt produces heat), so the watts relates directly top the amount of heat you get.

If you use a portable electric floor mat in front of kitchen or bathroom sinks, you might consider making sure that you are plugged in to a GFCI (ground fault circuit interrupter receptacle) which is usually already located within 6 feet of sinks. Stay safe.

Interesting idea

Certainly an interesting thought. An insulating mat under the heating mat would eliminate the heat loss to a cold floor. The down side I see is - storage and a cord to trip on. An electric blanket would add to the comfort when sitting or lounging. Suspect that folks will continue to investigate similar solutions. Might even start to see sweaters, long johns, gloves, and hats come into more use. Oh, and slippers too, as suggested prior.

In our MH the area under the dash is the warmest place in the MH when using dash heat, so nothing needed there.
Is this what you are inquiring about?https://www.amazon.com/heated-foot-w...ed+foot+warmer

There are already battery operated versions of those, used by hunters, ice fishermen, winter workers, anybody who needs to be out in the cold for extended periods. There are stores that cater to their needs, e.g. this one

Lots of good ideas! Even warm slippers would do.
