Emergency Travel Plans
Got a question for you good folks. We keep getting ads and info on VFW, DU (Ducks Unltd), Good Sam, etc., on getting "Travel Assist" plans or "Emergency Assistance Plus" plans.
Does anyone have any comments about these plans? Do you have them? Are they worth it? Do they REALLY come through?
We are getting older, but, hope to get back on the road, soon. We will be taking trips with grandkids and our three fuzzy, hairy children. It would be nice to have the peace of mind knowing that they would be "taken care of" in the event of some kind of, God-forbid, emergency.
Carole, Paul, Nikko, Darla and Pedro
Thank you!

If those policies make you travel with peace of mind then by all means purchase one for your protection. I have never read where anyone posted that the policy was worthless, and only good responses.

If you're a FMCA member and can wait until about the first of October, FMCAssist will probably free with your membership. The insurance provider is Seven Corners and is underwritten by Lloyds of London. Does and will it pay, yes. It is world wide coverage, but you motor home is returned only within Canada, Mexico, and USA. Can't wait, it is $105/year/family. Note: These 'assist' packages are not medical insurance, their primary benefit is to return members that cannot travel because of accident or death.

It's insurance like all others. Buy it and hope you never need it. When/if we start traveling far away for long periods of time I will be looking to buy a policy. Most will get your rig home and since the wife won't want to drive it, I think it would be worth having. Just my opinion, your may vary.... By the way, never had anyone say it did not do what it promised.
