Curious about the various discount clubs available. Some are touted as half price and others as various percentages off list prices at campgrounds. Which have you found to be most user friendly (real) and do you belong to multiples?

We have used PPA and CCA for the past 4 years and found both to be as advertised. Just like making reservations with any campground lond distance you need to do a little homework.

I belong to PPA. The membership works as advertised. I would make the purchase again.

PPA is the best deal I've ever had for the buck.
We have found very few campgrounds that were not to our liking.

I had Camp Club USA for a year and now have Passport America. It seems to me that PPA has more compgrounds and about all of CCA campgrounds are included in PPA.

Just my 2 cents worth.

...by the way.. we had belonged to CampClubUSA for a year..and seemed to never be able to use it at the dates we wanted to use it...it just seemed to be too restrictive...

Yes they(PassPort America)have restrictions and black-out dates. The campgrounds set their own rules,it isn't PPA. Some of the prices in the book are right and sometimes the campground will put a bunch of add-ons which make the cost per night more than half price. Still a bargain.

Monaco Mama,
You would be more than welcome to join Escapees. However, hopefully you will also join the Escapee experience and fellowship. The Escapees are a wonderful group of people who not only have campgrounds but, have social events, Escapades, Rallies and Chapters throughout the United States. The Escapees have a mail service which is large enough to have it's own zip code! They have a CARE center in Texas, great magazine and super members who as a group and individually volunteer for virtually every cause you may consider.
Bottom line is this is a wonderful group of people and you will find your missing out on the Escapee experience if you just join for the few parks they have around the country.
Here is the link to the web site: http://www.escapees.com/index2.asp

Marv...
Thanks for the information. You are not the first person who has told me to join the Escapees. I am sure this will be one of the groups we join once I am no longer a "One Park Fulltimer" (Yes - I am at one location. ..fulltiming in the rig. I will have to unload soooo much stuff once we start moving again! )
Thanks again for the info and the link. I have bookmarked it!

At $45 for the year, we paid off our Passport America in just a few stays at a campground. Within one week of purchase, we had paid for it and are now saving money for the rest of the year.

I'd recommend it to anyone, just make sure you call in advance to see if they have any blackout dates. Some do and some dont. But how can you go wrong for only $45 a year!?!

I cant comment on the rest and dont think I'd purchase any of those ones that are up in the thousands of dollars
