Everything is bigger in Texas!
Even the bugs_. My usual bug guts removal method is not working well. I'm welcome to suggestions for removing the bug remains without removing the wax or dulling the gel-coat.

I thought I would save a few bucks on my meds. So I moved to TX. But, alas, still the same.

Well, since no one has offered ya any help yet, Ray, I'll let you know I've had good luck with Simple Green & a pair of old panty hose. Spray the Simple Green on the guts & let it sit a couple minutes, then go at the little bugger (pun intended ) scrubbing with the pantyhose. Finish with a good wash & then wax to keep them from sticking as badly in the future.
I read about this solution on a Corvette site, figured it was worth a shot & tried it, successfully, on my 66 Mustang.

Ray, I don't have much to offer you for your removal issues but have had some success myself with Rejex. Perhaps you might consider it for next time. You apply Rejex after you have everything cleaned up. While it hasn't been the miracle ("all you have to do is rinse") that some claim, it does make removing bug residue much easier to take off, at least for me.
I've been putting it on my front cap and mirrors for several years.

Ray,
The current issue of MH Magazine (Dec 09) dedicated an article to just your dilema.
Of the more than a dozen (including Bounce Dryer Sheets & Mr. Clean Magic Erasers) they tested, they seemed to like these:
*Poorboy's World Bug Squash: "..when we used it at 100 percent strength as a spray it devoured bugs after a beief soaking. Does not remove wax when used as directed..."
* Duragloss 471 Bug Remover: "..Worked great on wet surface after 1-2 minute soak time. Claims not to remove wax...One of our favorites."
*Turtle Wax Bug & Tar Remover-Spray: "...product is applied dry after washing the vehicle...easier to use...claims that it cleans and protects, therefore no additional waxing...This was our favorite dry application product..."
The article also suggested using Rejex as a surface prep to ease bug removal: "...We tried it on half a vehicle and later while cleaning we notied the side treated with Rejex was substantially easier to clean..."
FWIW.

Thanks for your last suggestions. Lori, I was sweating it until then. I couldn't figure out how to explain the pantyhose, since wife doesn't wear them. I was picturing myself with pantyhose sticking out of my pocket and wife waving her rolling pin__________!
