Excellent dual pane window repair

Like many other high end MH's manufactured in the late 90's and early 2000's our Beaver has dual pane windows made by SE-GI. Although we didn't have fogged windows we did have four where the seals between the panes had "snaked" into the window area. Last week we had those 4 windows (8 sliding window sections) repaired by RV Fog Doctor of Searcy AR.

In 9 year of full-timing we have rarely had such a positive experience with a repair facility. Our appointment was on a Monday and we were told that the shop had hookups if we wanted to arrive on Sunday so we would be there for the start of business on Monday. To my surprise the shop had ~6 full hookup locations in front of its service bays. We arrived on Sunday afternoon to find only one of the hookups in use by another MH.

On Monday morning, we "checked in" shortly after the business opened at 8am and we backed our coach into the service bay shortly thereafter. We left to go to breakfast and, when we returned, we discovered that all four window frames had been removed and were being worked on in the glass shop. Another technician was working on a windshield seal problem I had also asked be fixed.

By around 11 am the first of the window frames came back from glass shop to be reinstalled. By 1:30 pm all the frames had been reinstalled and the windshield issue had been fixed. Total cost was $200/window since they were able to reuse my window glass since there had been no etching due to fogging. We drove away by 2pm totally amazed by the efficiency and professionalism of the shop. We highly recommend these folks to anyone who needs their specialized glass capabilities.

That's good to know Joel. There is a place here in FL but they charge $250/window. I have heard good reports about them.

Prices in Searcy are $200 per window plus $100 if the glass is etched and must be replaced. That is the whole window meaning both fixed and sliding side. The exception is the drivers side front window. It is $300.00. On a side note they are said to do excellent body work also.

I am taking them my coach this winter.

Glad you got such great service. We recently had 12 of ours repaired at Suncoast Designs in Hudson, Fl. with similar results. Of course, we were not done in one day. Took until midday Thursday and all 12 were back in place. We were totally pleased with the service. They have a lifetime warranty, but you do have to go to Florida to have it done.

Joel, are you saying they do windshield installs as well. I and a friend have both had trouble finding a good shop for windshield work.

Yes, they install windshields. In my case the gasket had pulled away from the lower corner and they were able to fix it without full removal of the glass but they were prepared to do that, if it was necessary.

The inner glass pane of my driver's window had been removed by a previous owner. RV Fog Doctor said they didn't have glass large enough to replace it. Honestly, I'm so used to it not being dual pane that I don't care.

As for body work, they gave me a very competitive quote for a partial repaint that we're planning on having done this winter.
