So here is the deal with Portfolio. I had a service contract with them for my previous coach. First of all, you need to bring back the coach to the dealer you bought the service contract from - no choice in other service providers, unless, of course you're on the road.
Second, if your dealer, like mine did, goes out of business and you want to terminate the contract early, you will be out the portion that went to the dealer - all you get reimbursed are the admin fees from Portfolio - and a lot of people had huge problems getting even that portion back.
Third, read the reviews - they are about as bad as they get.
We just bought a new Newmar Dutch Star back in June and our dealer was pushing real hard for the Portfolio contract. I told him, given my previous experience I'd rather sign a contract with the devil:-) Needless to say, the dealer was not happy.
I will wait until the initial factory warranty is up and then look around for an extended service contract. CoachNet is one company that keeps coming up with good reviews.
