In my younger and more foolish days I was into fast draw. I used a colt navy .36 cap and ball. My favorite cartoon charachter was Hipshot in the Rick O Shay cartoon. One day while lowering the hammer and holstering the pistol my thumb slipped and I shot myself in the hip. Since I was using half charges of powder the damage was slight. The name stuck. Then in Viet Nam I was realy shot in the hip, a through and through, that one hurt and the name was reinforced.

My other obsession is the 1948 Cessna 195 airplane that I've owned and flown for the last 25 or so years. Uses more fuel than the Damon, but goes faster!

Mine kind of has a double meaning. Dave's favorite TV series is Get Smart. Whenever the Chief would explain to Max how his assignment would put him in terrible danger, Max would reply 'And loving it!". But, also, when people ask how we like our motorhome & RV-ing, I usually say "We're broke & loving it". The catch phrase works great for my user name & license plate.

Speaking of Boat Names, when I owned a boat back in the 80's, I had a Cobia sport/fishing boat and the name was "RnR", My name is Richard and I was married to my second wife at the time and her name is Rebecca. It sure gave us many pleasurable vacations with much needed Rest and Relaxation.

I have a meteor gray Porsche. I use this name for all my car and MH forums. Makes it easier to log on.

My youngest granddaughter called my motorhome a "truck house".
