Extended service plans
Good Sam extended service plans. What is your opinion? Do they actually cover what they say they do. Any problem with claims?

Be sure to read the fine print.
You will have to keep accurate records and make sure all required maintenance is done on schedule.
They are out to make a profit so anything/reason they can find will void the warranty.
A lot of folks will tell you to take the money you would pay for the extended warranty and put it in a savings account.

I have read some that say GS works, and some that say it doesn't.
EX: if fridge goes out, can you prove annual required maintenance was done?
Not sure what else to say but what jfran said above.
I have looked into them and they scare me--no matter which one, there are bad reports on internet reviews. Perhaps, tho, good results aren't posted...

Did that, cost us bigtime!
There was a case sometime ago where a person had a transmission problem. Service administrator asked for service records as per the contract. They denied the transmission claim because the owner was 750 miles past due on his engine service!

Lots of other warranty companies
We got a policy from Wholesale Warranty at less than 1/2 cost of good Sam!

Do you have any RV repair places near you?
Go to them and ask their opinion of Good Sam when it comes to paying claims.
I had $12,000 worth of repair work done at a local RV dealer and my insurance, AAA, covered it all. I asked the service department what insurance company they like to work with best and they said AAA hands down.
My claim was due to a rear dual tire blowing out and ripping all my wiring out.

My advice, shop around. I personally had a problem with GS 4yrs. ago, and immediately cancelled. I went with www.wholesalewarranties.com and have NEVER had a problem with them taking care of any problems.
