Most cars now you can't get a siphon hose down the gas filler neck. Protects against gas theives.

I have a old 1991 pickup truck with dual tanks. It can be siphoned. I keep it full as an additional source of gas for my home emergency backup generator.

As others have rightly pointed out there are literally thousands of these plastic jugs of gas being hauled around on trailers every day. Every landscaper has two or three in his trailer with his lawnmowers. Every guy with a dirt bike or ATV has a couple on his trailer. If it did explode into a fireball regularly it would make the evening news. What TV station could resist such dramatic footage? I am sure it could happen and probably has but the chances are remote. If I worried about everything that people ramble on about here on irv2 I would never go camping.
