Falling Wiper Motor

My wiper motor has pulled loose and fallen onto the top of the engine. The surface the bracket attaches to feels like paper thin steel and above that I'm thinking is the plywood for the dash top. Any ideas how to re-attache it so that it stays without running bolts thru the top of the dash and having them exposed?

My wiper motor is outside the firewall. The dash is behind the firewall. I don't know about yours, but it's worth a look. You may not have the problem you think you have.

On mine, the bracket that holds the motor is like an upside down L. The short end of the L faces the inside of the coach and the screw holes are on the short end of the L. The long leg of the L is facing the grille and is where the motor attaches to the wiper arms.. The screws (bolts) that go thru the mounting holes in the short end of the L go into the thin sheet steel above, with only an inch or so clearance before hitting the dash covering which is a white vinyl.

If the brackets were held only to the sheet metal, the screws were likely sheet metal or self-piercing metal screws. If the holes are enlarged, it may be possible to simply replace with a larger diameter screw. If the screws came out due to vibration, replace the screws with the same size to get a good grip on the sheet metal. Since you have some space above the sheet metal before hitting the plywood, you might be able to use a short moly bolt or similar spreading insert which would expand behind the sheet metal and give a better grip, spreading the load of the weight of the motor. A drop of blue thread lock would keep the resulting bolt from loosening in the future. Please report back with questions or a final result.
