There's way more information in this story link

The drivers was evidently unconscious and passerbys could not get him out, while the second person was found later.

Just a couple hours rest might have avoided that. If I'm feeling sleepy or tired, the next exit is my destination. I can remember back when I used to drive for >700 miles non-stop. Sure glad I got over it_alive.

This is so sad to see happen anyone. It is also a reason I will use a Walmart or any other parking lot. Please folks, be careful. Maintain the equipment and yourselves.

It happened around noon. Unless they started out in the middle of the night they should not have been tired.

Don't like seeing things like this. It's very unfortunate. Any number of medical issues could have caused it. Can't rule out something mechanical as well. Not Good!

I wonder if the fire caused the crash rather than the crash causing the fire? It looks like a pusher if the fire started in the engine compartment the could have lost power steering, then lost control. Guess we'll have to wait for the official report.

It could have been as simple as somebody loosing control/running off the road to avoid hitting a critter? Driving something this big, you have to be ready/prepared to JUST HIT IT!! I don't like the plan any more than most, but too many times trying to avoid an animal leads to stuff just like this.

I tell DW the same, either step on the brakes or hit it do not swerve. My aunt had a now funny story. She is in MN, swerved to avoid 2 deer, about ended up in both ditches, slid sideways down one side of the road. Saved wrecking the car, and hit one of the deer. Thankfully she was ok, but did more damage to the car than the deer did. Took out 50% of everything under the caddy.

Jim I know better than to believe what gets published in the newspapers! When I posted two dead it was from the link I posted above, which none of the links above seem to work now.

Thank you for the update and correction.
