"Acetone and methyl-ethyl-ketone (MEK) are great solvents too, but they often remove paint or soften fiberglass & plastic, so use cautiously."
A lot of this stuff can be hazardous to your health, another reason to use cautiously. Rubber gloves??
I have a friend from my days in the Navy back in '58-'62 who later became a high school auto shop teacher. For many years he and his wife would ride their Goldwing from SC to OR for the trip and to visit. While he was here we would work on one of our bikes or some other vehicle because we enjoyed doing that. He ALWAYS put on a pair of rubber gloves before putting his hands in any kind of solvent or lubricant.
