Finding Camping Buddies
Hello all, is there a section of this forum where a couple could find other like minded couples to link up with and go camping? If there isn't something like this let's start a conversation and see where it leads.

Well, if you want to do that then you should probably list where you're from or where you want to camp. Also what interests you might be a good thing to have so that at least you are compatible with others.
I think this is a pretty good idea, but want to know a little more about folks before I hook up with them.

Well of course I just didn't want to put all that here if there is already an established forum area.
We are in the Bay Area of California.

Are you a member of the Good Sam Club? I think they have some local area groups who get together.

Post in the Regions Forums here. You'll find people in your area & should be able too hook up with other iRV2 members.

I like long walks on the beach and cozy nights by the fire. LOL!

www.rvillage.com might be a place to try as well. It has a way to see who else is in your area, and link up with people. It seems pretty cool.

Sorry, I camp to get away from people. Very hard to do in a campground though.

Yes, lots of good Sam chapters out there. Some based on shared hobby interest, some on just good fellowship, etc.
For example for several years we have belonged to a group that gets together the 2nd weekend of every month. About 20 members with usually 10-15 rigs attending in a given month. At a campground within ~100 miles of San Diego. All have become good friends. We really look forward to the weekends. Additionally often some if the members will go elsewhere together - for example several of us attended together at the fmca international rally in phoenix earlier this year.

When we went full time, 6 years ago, we had the same problem. We joined IRV2 and went to our first rally. There we met folks that we are still friends with today.
We keep in touch through facebook and get together whenever we can. We also joined an FMCA group that camps 4-5 times a year in our region and met more folks there. Good Sams also has groups that you can join. Once you start making friends, it's amazing how fast your friendships multiply.
