First Entry

Good News! Today I confirmed with our dealer, Bankston Motorhomes of Ardmore, that Dulcinea will be ready for us this coming Thursday.

We are excited. We put the down payment on her on Jan. 23 at the RV show in Nashville and have since been delayed by either weather or parts availability to fix a few things we found on the test drive.

We previously had a 2004 Pace Arrow 37C, which we liked very much, but seeing this new model at the show just wowed us. I wont get into the pro's and cons of buying new vs used, that not the object of this entry. Lets just say we liked what we saw so much as to discard all the plans we had made for updating and remodeling the old one.

It was like the times we have bought some of our houses. You walk in and right away you just know.

So since making the deposit, I have undertaken the shopping and analysis of Extended Warranties, Insurance and having a canopy built over our parking pad. I'm also reviewing running a 50A service out to the driveway.

In addition we made a run to IKEA in Memphis to buy accessories, bedding, towels, and pots and pans that will work on an induction cooktop.

These things have a way of taking on a life of their own as it's like buying a vacation home that has to be appointed out appropriately.

I plan tp retire in 2022 and I guess we just wanted something new and nice and up to date to spend 4 to 6 months a year (cumulative) for traveling and exploring. No real plans to full time but wanted to have the option and the space to spend a week or two here and there without feeling closed in.

I suspect that if anyone reads this they will identify with that same sentiment.

Anyway, I'll try and keep this blog updated with pertinent entries. Forgive me if I ramble, that's just how my brain works.

I find this post highly offensive....your motor home should be referred to as gender neutral, not she or her.

Congrats on your new coach. Buying accessories and planning for the delivery day is always exciting.
