Filled it about 2/3 full, with the thought of, as mentioned in previous post, water line busting and needing my own source of water.

Forecast now down to 19!!!

Nice that I get to "test" my trailer's first freeze with REALLY cold weather

Tank heaters are =thermostatic= controlled
Turn ON when temps are expected to be lower then 40*F
Heaters will turn on/off when ambient air temps go below/above 40*F

Do NOT turn on IF waste tank is empty.....no liquids in tank to absorb heat generated by tank heater so tank wall will. Will damage tank over time.

Leaving grey drain valve open.
Some do.......some don't
*Freezing temps...drain valve open----liquids trickling out will freeze in sewer hose. Can cause issues IE: blockages
**Open drain valve allows sewer flies into your waste tank where they set up home, invite family/friends to join in ----have babies (larvae) and then you have more issues
*Drain valve open makes your waste tank part of CG sewer system so your RV now is venting CG sewer system.

I personally ONLY hookup sewer drain hose when I dump tanks......roughly once a week

Fresh water tank.......
I used to NOT have water in it until CG water supply went down---for a week!!
NOW it is always FULL and Used vs CG water via hose

Have been in -19*F temps.
Run RV Furnace
Use tank heaters IF tank has liquid!!
Open lower cabinet doors at night so warm air can circulate inside cabinets were water lines are
Used fresh water tank/pump.......turn pump off at night or when you leave RV
Grey tank drain valve...your choice. Mine is CLOSED!

Always keep water in your fresh water tank.

Close the grey valve.

Turn off the outside hose faucet.

Plus it's nice to have the gray water to flush the slinky.

Howdy!

Personally I would fill my fresh water tank and disconnect my city water. Also as mentioned my 5er has tank heaters and advises to have liquids in the tanks to prevent damage to the tanks. I would close the gray water tank also ad have some water in it.

We made it, and it didn't get as cold as expected. Only down to 26-ish. Maybe a little cooler tonight.

I did as you all said, even the "Hot beverages served and movie on the tv."
