First use of TSD Logistics Fuel Card

Some observations from my first use of the TSD Logistics Fuel Card, after completing a multi-state trip. Before leaving town, I fueled up at a Circle K truck stop. The truck stop was not listed in the Open Roads app, but I saw a sign at the truck stop that said the EFS was accepted. I filled up and received a whopping $1.02 per gallon discount. According to TSD Logistics, the card may be used at Love’s, T/A and Petro truck stops, including some smaller regional fueling stops. Circle K wasn’t listed, but I was thankful for the discount. I also used my card at T/A and Love’s. T/A always seemed to offer a better discount. I stopped at another Circle K truck stop in a different state, since I received such a great discount at home. This time I received no discount and was charged an out-of-network fee. I called TSD to inquire. I was told that no Circle K’s are part of their fuel program, and that I should ONLY purchase fuel at trucks stops listed in their app. The rep could not however explain why I received a discount at the Circle K near our home. Days later, I was going to fuel up at a Petro, but when I double checked the app, no Petro truck stops were listed in the app. My takeaway is the discounts in my region of the country are primarily restricted to Love’s & T/A. Comments?

Lastly, I noticed that Love’s and T/A have rewards cards. Are there any benefits to these cards if you only make occasional fuel purchases?

Like they say "use the app" Not all Petros are "company owned" and participate in the plan. Some Cicle K's in FL were in for a while until prices got so crazy. Hard to adjust when you aren't pumping the volume that the big boys are doing.

Loyalty cards... points add up at TA?petro and eventually you get a meal or stuff in the store. Love's, smaller discount but usually can get a free drink with a 100+ gallon fill.

Check the app before you pump...no surprises.

Just curious, anyone use it in Nevada? The letter that came with the card says you have to go inside to use it. Wondered why.

Received my TSD card a couple months but haven't used it yet. Next month we embark on a 10,000+ mile trip and plan on wearing it out. I look forward to discounts but as important to me will be the ability to fill up without limit. It is a major pain to use multiple credit cards or pay cash to get a fill.

Right now the contract prices with TSD/EFS are not much better than other local stations since fuel prices are so volatile.

I filled up at a local truck stop on Sunday and paid 14 cents less than any of the TSD/EFS stations anywhere within 100 miles.

GasBuddy is your friend right now, it just takes some extra effort to determine if the stations listed can fit your rig

Just be aware that when you use the truck stop pump, it's like calling a Government agency. You must answer questions on each screen, such as....do you want DEF Yes/No, do you want cash back Yes/No, do you want to fill from both sides Yes/No, before they finally get to the authorization screen where you enter your code.

I have kept track of the savings i get when using the TSD card for the past year and a half. I normally stop to refill at 1/2 tank and without fail, I have saved anywhere from $18 to $32 dollars from what the pump price showed. No matter how I look at it, I am saving money. Maybe I could have found fuel a bit less money off the highway we are on, but for me the ease of using the truck stops is so convienent.

From what I remember reading Nevada requires your commercial permit number to pay at pump diesel at a truck stop. Since RV owners wouldn't have that permit in normal circumstances, you would have to go inside to authorize. I may not have all the details, but that was the gist.

TSD card and Love's phone app are the cats meow.

I pull up to the pump, answer a few screens on the app while sitting in my chair, go outside and fill-up my tank with no limits, take picture of completed transaction on the pump, then pull forward and get ready to drive. No going into the store, no cards at the pump, no going inside for receipts, much easier and quicker in my opinion.

I live in Nevada and have no problem fueling at the pump without going inside.

I believe you guys are thinking about Oregon.

Even in Oregon I have used the Love's and TA/Petro app at the pump, answer the questions, fill, and be on my merry.

Good luck and have fun!

How do you pay via the app using the TSD Logistics card? I thought the card had to be run through the pump card reader.

Just got the card and had Nevada on the list. Considering Alamo is my biggest pain I hope it was an oversight.

It is charged directly to your bank account, we opened a second bank account just for TSD, put a grand or so into that account and then when we buy fuel, TSD a day or so after we buy the fuel will send a email with the amount of that transaction and what they are withdrawing from the account. Works very well for us.
