Floor

Looking to replace floor in rv. Would like to go back with peel and stick vinyl or the vinyl planks. I hear different stories concerning slide scratches etc. Not concerned about slides as they glide across stationary rollers. Will these floors work and if so do they stand the test of time?

I have a neighbor who is also a floor installer. I asked him about this since I wanted to get rid of the old carpet. We went with a vinyl peel and stick tile which he said would work fine. He did recommend us gluing it down. I just wnted to peel and stick but decided to go the glue route since that is what he said he would do. He is also an RV'er so I knew he had done this a time or two. My wife loves the ease of cleaning the new floor.

He didn't volunteer to do it for you? Some neighbor...

Thanks that sounds reassuring. You hear so many stories makes you almost wonder about putting anything down. However you look at the interior on the new rigs and none of them have carpet hardly. Thanks again!

I recently replaced my carpet with Allure vinyl planks from Home Depot. Looks great! Easy to install

The peel and stick adhesive isn't up to having slides rumble over it. Glue down a good quality vinyl plank, if that's what you like.

But those slide rollers will probably scuff or scratch it a bit. You can put down a thin sheet of something else (or scrap pieces of vinyl) so the rollers scrub on that when the slide comes in.

Thumbs up

Like the idea adopt scraps to keep from scratching as rollers come over area.
