Floor plan frustration!

My family is considering changing up our RV situation, and I'm starting to accept that my ideal floor plan just doesn't exist - or maybe it does and my brain is too boggled from looking at so many that I have missed it. Maybe you all can help?!

Ideally we want a gas class A with quad bunks, a larger u-shaped dinette, a big fridge, and a washer/dryer.

Currently we have a 32' class C, and it's great for the type of camping we've done so far. 2 kids in the bunk beds, 2 kids in the master, and hubby and in the bunk over the cab. The little kids are too small for the cab over bunk, and the way our floor plan is, we can put them to bed in the back, close the pocket door, and stay up late. It's perfectly adequate. But we're considering full timing for a year. I love the travel trailers that have a quad bunk room - each kid has their own bed, we can close their door, and we still have a real bed for ourselves. I would loooove to find that setup with a washer/dryer. Class A preferred, but I'd be open to a TT if I could find one. (The tentative plan if we find a class A or keep our class C would be to tow a trailer behind it with our 6 bikes, 2 kayaks, and extraneous stuff, and also drive the family car with the kids.) We aren't interested in a fifth wheel.

Aside from customizing one ourselves, which seems daunting, I'm at a loss! Anyone know if my holy grail of RVs exists?

Side note: if anyone wants to go into business with me creating RVs with family-friendly layouts, kid-proof surfaces, and more modern design sensibilities, let me know!

(Hey RV manufacturers! We aren't the only ones looking for this...hint hint..)

More slides = more weight , less capacity for stuff. I doubt you’ll find a quad slide outside of a tour bus I’m betting a 5er is in your future.

I've not seen a gas coach with quad bunks. At least not one that comes off the manufacturing line like that. You might be able to modify a gas toyhauler to where the toy part can be made into a quad bunk room. Check Newmar's gas line up.

Even in a diesel, the only one that I can think of that'd come the closest is an early teens Discovery 42A where the rear closet had an option for 2 bunks instead of the walk-in closet. Maybe with some mods, the 2 bunks could be turned into 4.

Good luck w/your search.

There simply aren't that many larger families buying Class A's, so the selection of bunk models is slim. Travel trailers are more likely to have quad bunk floor plans, but washer/dryer prep is less common. Floor plans with all the features you want are most likley to be in a 5W, but you've ruled that out.

Here is an advertisement that lists several bunk models, trailer and motorhomes. Maybe something there you could like.

You have a 32' now. How big are you willing to go? What you're asking for takes up a lot of space and it will be extremely heavy. Have you considered a tent for a couple kids? They'd probably love it. Washer/Dryer? You'd be doing laundry daily on your vacation. They don't hold very much.

Floor Plans

To quickly survey available floorplans, visit the PPL Houston dealership website and look at their RVs for sale pages. They give you a graphic floorplan for each class A in their inventory... and that’s a bunch
