I have had floors with wood laminate the problem with that type floor its best to sweep it clean every time you close your slide or risk putting stone dents in floor surface or scratchs. Also if you get a leak on floor level, the floor will buckel. The 12" floor tiles the are simulated tiles, which I have in present coach wear very well and take less care and will keep moisture on top to be easily wiped up. I plan to add more tile in rug area in front of steps which is being done in the newer coachs now.
jmo come over to the Newmar Forum and I'll give you some KARMA.

I put down Pergo flooring in my 99 Discovery and loved it. I left the dining area with rug but changed the balance of motorhome - a 36ft with one large slide. I had one place where the big slide lightly scratched the floor but it was covered by a throw rug so no big deal. The interior looks were markedly improved and it was so easy to clean it was well worth the expense.

Thanks ladies. We are putting Pergo in large area upstairs at home and that would be my choice in MH too. I love lay-out and hope not to need change/upgrade for years so feel would be eventually worth it when carpet starts to show wear. We have pets too. Because both not retired yet don't travel enough to warrant change right now but will
