Florida Drivers License

I hope this is the right section... i have some questions and be getting conflicting answers:

Florida’s Class E drivers license is restricted to below 26001lbs. Except Motor Homes.(not travel trailers)
As per regulations i find, any Vehicle equipped with a fifth wheel hitch, is considered at "Truck Tractor” and in this case you are restricted to 26001lbs total weight, truck and trailer per definition....
This is at least what i have found and been told so far.
Now my question would be: How do i tow a 22000lbs Travel Trailer fifth wheel, if I’m restricted to 26001lbs ?
Florida does not have any Non-Commercial license for over the above limit.
I can not find any exception on fifth wheel travel trailer....

The main question behind this is that i want to purchase a large tow vehicle (medium duty Truck) to pull my trailer.. how can i do this and stay below the max weight ?

I’m confused and i hope someone here can shed light on this

thanks

dieselsub: Welcome to IRV2- NO special license is required. The Florida Class E license includes Recreational Vehicles, not just motor homes."

The CDL requirements also exempt Recreational Vehicles.

That's an interesting question...since FL only seems to have one non-commercial licence..."Class E".

So since the state says that any Recreational Vehicle operator (using the vehicle for RV purposes only) is exempt from the Commercial licensing requirements...Class E is all anyone needs for any RV set-up...see the CDL Exemptions here:
Official Website Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles
Same exemption is for Big DIY Moving trucks (U-Haul).

Safe travels

so i guess pulling fifth wheel trailers are exempt as well?
that means i could purchase a Truck and pull my Trailer, as long the truck is less than 26001lbs WITHOUT the trailer attached to it?

Also, if i am not mistaken, the trucks total weight includes the pin weight ?

thanks a lot

Limit is based on GVWR -Gross Vehicle Weight Rating. Not actual weight.

The pin weight would be reflected in the actual weight of the truck, which should be less that GVWR and axle and tire limits..

My FL drivers license says: Any non commercial vehicle with a GVWR less than 26001lbs. or any RV. A fifth wheel is a fifth wheel. a tractor towing a fifth wheel is an RV. Like when a sign says all trucks must weigh, a 1/2 ton pickup is not a truck it is a Light Truck. My RV with Towed weighs about 39,000 pounds.
