I've pretty much have written off FJ's, on my trip to FL last month they were almost always higher than the other stations, and if T/A or Hess are close (in price) I'll usually go there because their truck lanes are easier to get into then FJ's RV lane.

A recent email message from FJ/Pilot says the 25 gallon minimum is being dropped. See this report in RV Boondocking News:
RV Boondocking News: Pilot Flying J removes 25-gallon fuel minimum from Frequent Fueler discount program

They may get this right yet! Now if only fuel prices would drop a bit, so I could actually afford to buy some!

I thought that I would give another day with Flying J or as I call them Flipping J. Today just west of Houston, I went to get propane. Pulled into there lot behind two pickups with long trailers that was blocking the propane lane. They were not around the area. I go inside and ask if they could anounce over the PA system for them to move their trucks. The girl looked at me as if I was speaking French, after a few seconds, it hit some part of her brain and made the anouncement. No one came out, this time I went to Denny's, there they asked each customer till bingo, the two owners moved their trucks and trailers. Pulled up to the propane island, picked up the phone and was told to hold. After a few seconds, they came on and told me that the propane pump was out of order. Yea, out of order!!!!!!! I asked them why they could not tell that over 30 minutes earlier when I was inside asking them to get the island cleared.

It seems to me and some others, that we are not worth the trouble. They don't make that much money from us, their bread and butter is the truckers, where they make up to .06 cents more money on the truck lanes.

I left AZ last week and filled up at a circle K for .25 cents less that Flipping J. Yes I had to unhook my toad and reconnect, for .25 cents a gallon less, it is worth it. In TX, when I filled again, I went to Murphy USA and saved .20 cents a gallon. I will not use Flipping J or Pilot for their fuel anymore. You can find less expensive fuel elsewhere. When more of us stop using these joints, maybe they will come back to being RV Friendly.

Don't fall for there discounts that may work, or free cookies with coupon. Give me a break. The way fuel is climbing, every penny saved is worth the trouble.

We use our coach for business, and we are always traveling. So to keep our expenses down, I will search for cheaper fuel.

Sorry to step on the Flipping J's posters, either you have stock in the company, or you work for them.

Hi jcrowder47,

You had a good post until you decided to take your frustrations out on other members. "either you have stock in the company, or you work for them." For me your statement is not true. We are all different. It is not worth my time/effort to do what you do for the lower price. Simple as that. However, I will not look down on or think unkindly of you if you will return the courtesy.

GaryKD,

I'm sorry that you think that I am taking my frustrations out on folks like you, I'm not. Just some folks that give such a great reviews on these companies, even noting a free cookie. That kind of write up shows more than just simple customer loyality.

That kind of price increases and lack of customer service is not worth the extra money. I deal with customers all of the time. If I treated my customers there way, I would be out of business. With that said, and as I posted, if more RVers stayed away from these companies, the sooner they come back to the real wold.

Hope this explains my statement!!

Hi cb5300,
I laughed (good laugh) when I read your post. It didn't start out that way. My OP was just to post the current facts and status. Unfortunately, it has taken many turns and twists that have nothing to do with the OP.

For those who do not care to use the Pilot/J, please complete your commitment and stay away. It makes the line shorter for those of us who benefit from the company.

I'm not sure it could be done, but an analysis of
1. Pilot/J
2. WalMart parking
3. Camping World
threads to see if the same negative posters are in each thread and which thread generates the most negative posts.

OFF TOPIC yet again for this thread and I sincerely apologize, but at this point I don't think it matters

And firearms threads.....

Based on my very unscientific method of analysis; I have drawn the conclusion that the same negative posters are indeed intertwined with all the aforementioned threads.

My method was to methodically place on my ignore list any poster that met my own personal "troll meter" standards and criteria Based on the fact that there are quite a few of the "you can't see this post because the person is on your ignore list" I would say this hypothesis is correct.
No animals were hurt in this study .. .... carry on
