Flying J prices
I find it strange that the Pilot and Flying J truck stops in Penns Grove NJ, which are at the same exit across from each other , have such varied pricing.
Pilot gas 2.53 ,diesel 2.85 Flying J gas 2.59 and diesel 2.99
6 cents difference in gas and 14 cents difference in diesel. Unusual for both being under the same corporate umbrella.

Was the Pilot displaying "cash" price and the Flying J showing "credit" price?

We are in the Tampa area and the J at Lazy Days cash price is $.10 more than a Shell station on the south side of I-4. I guess all those Futures prices that the J pay to much for, finely has to be paid for.

While I no longer go to the J, I have noticed the same thing. At an exit where a J is located their advertised prices are much higher than other stations at the same exit.

Not all of the Flying J truck stops were sold to Pilot. There were a few locations where both Flying J and Pilot stores were next to or very near one another, so Pilot did not aquire these locations. So a limited number of Flying J locations were sold out-right. Loves Fuel stops aquired most of the locations that were sold out-right and away from the Pilot purchase. You should notice the names of these locations changing in the near future.

Drove from Forest City to St Louis today...highest diesel prices I saw along the highway was Flying J ... most where about $3.05 cash price...many other highway stations were as low as $2.85 cash or credit. That's about $25 difference/ fill on my mh.
It looked like Flying J's were all very busy anyways so no real incentive to get competitive I guess.

I stopped at a flying J in Memphis Tn at exit #4 The gas prices were a little higher than Petro just down the street.
The pay at the pump funtion wasn't working after trying 2 pumps and it was the same. They had one attendant on duty that was in Sllllllllloooooooww motion benind the counter. The line was at least 7 deep and no one was in a hurry.
I finally pulled out and went to petro.
Flying J's just havent been good experiances with us.
