The lack of consideration and following the rules by 2% has always created stricter rules. It was true in the military and is true out here in the civilian world. The majority of us are at the mercy of the 2% that are greedy, unlawful, lack consideration, etc.

nitehawk, I agree about the discount having to be big enough to warrant the inconvience
FreshAir, the prepay on diesel has always been a source of frustration for me-for pumps without a reader you walk to the counter, wait in line, give your card, walk out, pump, walk back in , wait in line and sign-its nuts. I have never met a cashier that told me they had a single diesel drive off prior to making it pre pay....

We fueled up at the Winchester Va FJ last Sunday. The only thing we got was the cash price for using a credit card near as I can tell. Would have loved to stay overnight but it seems RVers with toads unhook them and take up the RV parking spot with them rather than put them in the car area and walk 50 feet. Ended up in the VA welcome/rest area.
Topped up Monday at the Latta SC FJ. This appears to be for sale and not much going on. It was closed during the night. Lots of room to stay the night though. The signs on 95 now say FJ at exit 169 12 miles farther south. Went over to Myrtle Beach so we have not seen that one yet.
Went through the RV lanes both times NP. 40' but toad is tiny so it pretty much goes anywhere we can fit the RV. Shut off at $75 both times but I don't consider that a big problem. It is a little frustrating when you run the card through again and it takes another 3 gallons though.

You know, all things considered; life is way too short to let these little things upset or bother me. I choose to re-fuel at Flying J simply because it is what I wish to do whenever possible.
BTW, I would have reported the stupid numskull who put the bottles in the sewer. Cell phones do have cameras ya,know.

I buy from who ever got the cheaper fuel. If flying J got it I will buy from them. I know Flying J got caught with a lot of fuel when the price of fuel fell and that how Pilot acquired it.

I was at a state park at Flaming Gorge, Utah this summer and went to the dump station but there was a maint crew there working on the dump station. They told me they were removing rocks that were put down the sewer drain pipe. They said it happens occasionally and they made a special tool and are getting pretty good at removing the stuff people put down there.

HD4Mark=Camping World and Cabelas is about 8 miles south of the FJ in Winchester, Va and while CW does not have much parking Cabelas ajoins it and has a huge park lot and can overnight at either one (well lighted). Interesting info on the Latta FJ as usually overnite there

Other then being a very congested parking lot, the Pilot station at exit 9 on I-40 in western AZ has the most rude customer service reps I have ever seen while dealing with truck stops for fuel.
Pulled into the truck pumps as I have a Volvo 610 and usually take on 100+ gallons at a time. No direct pay at the pump so went in and asked their procedure for filling. Once it was established that I was not commercial, all bets and decency were gone by the woman behind the fuel desk.
The credit card would not scan the first time she swiped it and she refused to try it again.
Went up to Loves at the top of the hill and took on 128 gallons.
Pilot lost a few bucks on that one at $3.13/gallon.

One easy way to beat the $75.oo dollar limitation is to use two credit cards. I use one and when it ''tops out'' I just zip another one and keep fueling. This has worked well for me. My second card is just for fuel so there is no confusion as to what has been ''put on the card'' when we check on line as to our status. Also. I am a big believer in using the CHEAPEST GAS. It all comes thru the same pipe and my coach does not notice the difference.
As to Flyin J, we use them if we are there when we need fuel but we have stopped at mom and pop gas stations with two pumps to mega fuel stops with a load of pumps and we always watch for the cheapest.....

Thanks for the tip on CW. Strange about the Latta FJ. The field next door used to be packed with campers any time we stopped there. Last Mon there were about 2 and we pulled right in to an RV spot near the pumps with maybe 3 or 4 others. When I woke up the next morning the lights were out in the store. I thought they were all 24 hour. Diesel was 3 cents higher than the 2 stations near by but I figured the extra $2 was cheap enough for a place to park overnight.

The fuel station "pre-authorizes" your credit card for a certain amount when you swipe it, so it is they who set the $75 (or whatever) amount, not the CC company. $75 is reasonable for the gas pumps, but not on the RV diesel pumps, but it's one size fits all.
The FJ stations near Tampa were extremely high priced yesterday - $3.239 and $3.259 (cash price), so I declined to buy fuel there. Filled up outside of Ocala at a Chevron station for $3.119 instead. Saved $10.

I warned many truckers for years that depending on the low prices at FJ would eventually bite them. And it has. FJ managed to nearly bankrupt TA and Petro, who then merged, and now that FJ is gone, Pilot has upped the price of fuel an average of 8 cents (by their own brag) throughout the industry. This may be in time to save TA and Petro truck stops and drive enough of the truck business away from Pilot and Flying J to let those two suffer the downturn they so richly deserve.
The free market does work, after all.

For me its all about how easy I can get to and from the pumps ( price is important to). Does anyone know of any other stations that by design are easy in and out of? I also expect to pay at the pump and not have to go inside for a receipt.
