All depends on what you are looking for. Discounts, RVer services like mail forwarding, another online RVing forum, bigtime national & regional rallies, etc. FMCA rallies are great if you enjoy that sort of thing. Discounts on tires or other products & services are worthwhile but not unsurpassed. Ditto for RVers services like mail handling or roadside assist. At least with FMCA you know that any profits or kickbacks from services are going to the membership rather than some corporate stockholders.

I received a letter from a different assistance service last week. The first year was $60 introductory price, then tripled the following year.
Which reminds me, I haven't received my dues notice yet, I'll call Monday.

When I see threads like this (they occur every few months, it seems), the negative replies often seem to be like "I can get cheaper 'this service'" or I paid less that FMCA discount on 'that item'", so who needs them? I believe those - it's nearly always possible to beat a club offering on some specific item IF you are a dedicated & smart shopper. But for many folks, a club that pulls together a reasonable (and reliable) package of services & discounts is both a convenience and a warm fuzzy that somebody knowledgeable has done the homework for you.

We joined in 1996 to have a source of information on the RV life. We attended several rallies in the early years and I always enjoyed the magazine right up until the club expanded to include travel trailers and fifth wheels. I realize they had to expand to include those groups due to declining membership and rising costs. Now, I barely glance through it as there are few things that interest me. We already have the side benefits through other sources. The only reason we keep our membership is for the Four Wheelers club.

There are a lot of benefits available to FMCA members, but only you can decide what they are worth to you. I will say the chapters are fun and informative. There are chapters based on geographic regions, manufacturers, and interests. Hard to imagine there isn’t one to fit any desire.
