For anyone on the fence for thinking of storing rv at home

Hi,

For 4 years we kept our at rv at a storage lot.

Last year we took the plunge and had a 45ft pad poured, it was part of a bigger site clearance\landscape project and had the free space.

Going back and forth to the rv in storage was always very time consuming. Last season packing and unpacking for trips was easier. We also had a 30amp outlet installed.

Even though we cannot use the rv for the foreseeable future I am still out tinkering with it.

Anyways for anyone that's on the fence I would highly recommend it.

Stay safe,

We're with you. We had electric installed so we could set up our 5er behind gates beside our house.

Yep, we are fortunate to have our motorhome parked on our property. Would be a real hassle to have it elsewhere.

I hear you on that Vince,

One of our cars is in winter storage at the County fairgrounds and we have no idea when we can get it out. Last month we had decided to keep at home next winter (even before the lockdown).

When I had our house built I made sure that I had a 100 foot RV pad installed. Great to be able to perform maintenance, load and unload for a trip, and best of all, the ability to camp out with the grandchildren!

44 years we always had our RVs next to the house. Never had anything more than a 20A outlet which was just fine for us.

S&B was in an older suburb (until we sold it to go full-time). Looked up zoning regulations for the area and found we could keep the RV in the driveway (2 car garage/wide driveway) as long as no one was living in it. Driveway between sidewalk and garage was just long enough...
Turned out other neighbors had 5'ers, pop-ups and an RV in our block and the next.

We've only owned two houses in 43 years of marriage. We bought both new and made sure they had RV parking. Doing some quick math, it's probably saved us at least $100K in storage fees.

On our second house, we ended up with storage on both sides, even though it was a small track home. Unfortunately, I don't have a hard cover over the motor home, but it's sure nice with all the projects I do, to have it stored at home. We've also used it over the years for hiding Christmas presents, letting an occasional guest stay over and as a second refer and freezer for parties and now for some extra food. It's a little narrow, 15' x 45', but it works.

Home storage if at all possible if zoning and drives or streets allow, is much better by all means

Under cover or in a building if possible especially in hot or cold climates

For nearly 50 years the RV didn't get to go inside

Having the Tuscany in the shop has truly been quite enjoyable and certainly makes it easier for maintenance or trip preparation

We built the carport you can see. It big enough for two cars and our 31’ Newmar. Very convenient as it next to the house and has 30 amp service. A planned benefit to parking it at home is every time we walk past it or see it out the window I remind myself I’m writing a check each month for it so why is it just sitting there.
