Ford Class A ,noisy V-10 engine

I have a Class A , 2018 Holiday Rambler, with a Ford V-10.
My last RV , Class A, also had a V-10 and the noise level was not as loud as my current V-10.

The engine cover ( dog house) is not carpeted and I wonder if there is
a way to quiet down the engine noise in the cab area!
Has anyone had a luck with some form of installation ???

We used dynamat on the inside of the doghouse, and I lay a furniture blanket over the top while traveling. It helps with heat and noise.

Prep the underside well as the heat will work on the adhesive if not rolled down well.

I think marine engineroom sound insullation would work the best. I would insulate the surrounding floor as well. We also have a very heavy carpet/mat that Lazy Days put down over the factory carpet, both on the floor and dog house. I think Wade's in Tampa makes it for them.

Dynamat directly on the surfaces to kill low frequency and then the usual non-woven cloth pads on top of that to take care of higher frequencies.

Once the engine noise is gone then yo'll tear your hair out dealing with wind noise and tire thrum....

v10 engine noise

I have the exact same problem with my 2018 Holiday Rambler.
I just bought the Dynamax to put on. I was wondering if you need to remove the current thin material on the inside of the dog house or if clean apply over the current material. I also have alot of cold air coming in thru the dash board. Still havent figured out what to do to keep our feet warm.
so many hoses and wires going thru wondering if there is some foam spray to use on the engine firewall.

The dynamat will only work well if its the first layer. You can peel your old layer off, use it as a template for the dynamat, and then glue it back over the dynamat.

Dynamat works because it's heavy - usually a butyl rubber loaded with lead. If you put it over something els it's likely to tear the other stuff apart over time.

There is also Hushmat which is almost as good as Dynamat and cheaper.

I've found our Tiffin to be quieter than others I've been in. However, I don't see any additional insulation in the doghouse?

Unfortunately a Ford V10 is not a quiet engine as it depends on some pretty high rpm to get it down the road I found with a pick up I owned as an RV tow vehicle - and one of the reasons I now have a diesel tower

When I put a street rod together, I used both Dynamat and an insulating quality version of neoprene. The Dynamat where I had only limited thickness and the neoprene where it didn't matter such as the floorboards. The inside of that car is very quiet for what it is while the outside is what you would expect from a car like that.

Whatever you use on the engine side of the doghouse, it should be fire resistant. Neoprene really isn't

Mine was already covered on the inside so I did the out side with Dynomat. It made a good bit of a difference in noise.

those of you who did the new material inside your dog house. Do you need to remove all the old glue first? or just go over with the new material as the glue seems pretty good.

Check the rubber seals. Are they in good shape and tight against both the floor, fire wall and dog house.
