Freaking out over doing Dicor roof sealer wrong!

I can't believe I've done this as I'm usually so careful about doing things like this to perfection. I woke up with some drama going on today and got into a panic about getting my old camper roof coated. The roof is in really good shape, so I'm not too upset, but I don't want to do the wrong thing now and make it worse. So, my big mistake is that I put on a thin coat of Dicor's Coolcoat on the roof before I applied the EPDM. I'm freaking out that I might have really screwed up my roof. Yes, I'm an idiot. Dicor is closed for the weekend now and I don't know if I should apply the EPDM tomorrow and put a thick coat of the Coolcoat on and pray, or wait to talk to Dicor on Monday. Thank goodness I put on a super thin coat. Thanks for any help!!!!

Not familiar with the Dicor/EPDM process but I think I would wait until you can talk to an expert on Monday--unless someone does come on here that has sound knowledge of the subject. In my years on this grand-ole earth, I've finally begun to go with my instincts. It sounds like your instinct is to wait or you wouldn't be wondering about it. Good luck.

Here is my take:

Both products are compatible with each other. The cool coat adds ceramic oxide particles to reflect heat back. The main slurry is epdm in either case, plus the titanium dioxide and zinc oxide added.

I would just apply another coating of the cool coat and call it quits.

Hopefully you cleaned and prepped the roof per their instructions. A light mix of TSP/water is a good choice.

Get a good night's sleep.

Check back and let us know what they suggested.

Thanks to both of you! Not sure what I'll do yet, but will post again when I do. Cheers!

Simply follow the Dicor directions to the letter and everything will turn out fine.
