Freeze Alarms
I live In (COLD) Minnesota, I don't want to winterize my Coach as We use it from Time to time during winter Months, I have Coach Plugged into 50AMP service in my (unheated) garage with Oasis unit running constantly, Has anyone used a temperature Monitoring System that can monitor Coach from My House which is about 600 feet from Coach?.

There are sensors with alarms that sound off at the temp you set. Dunno about 600 feet. Could there be an app for a smart phone? I have a drop light hanging inside the plumbing compartment that is set on a timer.......

During the fall I have kept a trouble light in the wet bay and electric heaters inside. All on timers. Worked.
I grew up in MN. Would never subject my MH to road salt. Nonono!!

Is there a land phone line out there? We have a freeze and power outage alarm in the sticks and bricks house that is programmed to call out cell phones if it gets below 42 or the power is out more than 15 or 30 min depending on how you set it.

Here ya go Scooter Control Products HS-700 Freezealarm Homesitter Multi-Functional Alarm Dialer with Audible Alarm - Amazon.com
We also connect an answering machine so we can call home to make sure the phone line is working. The answering machine can be remote accessed to retrieve messages and erase them. We don't get many calls on the home phone that we want to answer anymore though.

If you want one that works with a phone line, this unit is the most bullet-proof on the market. Very
reliable and expandable. I bought one in 1998 and am still using it to this day in a vacation house.
Sure it costs more than some others.....but what would it cost if the cheaper unit malfunctioned, and
all the pipes burst before you knew about the emergency in progress ?

We use this one connected to a land line at 2 locations (house and lake house) and it has been bullet proof for 3 years during the winter.

Then what happens? And are you 1500 miles away? We have had our home security system go off while away.Neighbor has key to S&B in-case the coppers need to get in.

Same thing ....call a neighbor or family member to go by. Would you rather be able to prevent a problem from happening, or just not know and hope your insurance covers the catastrophic flood damage, and ruined personal belongings from frozen pipes? In the case of the OP, he wanted to check on his coach parked in winter, from his house 600 feet away.

I was hoping I could find something that would work (WITHOUT) phone line, I called Century Link they (THINK) they can add a line to garage, Charge would be $85.00 For first Hour and $24.00 for every 15 Minutes thereafter, Problem I have is they would need to go UNDER My Tarred driveway, Don't know how fast they can dig!!
Sure sounds like the way to go, tho!!
Thanks to All!

Try this unit that I mentioned that DOESNT require a phone line. Works wirelessly up to
1000 feet from the base ! Shows temperature and humidity, and allows you to listen for sounds !
See my prior posting for the link.
