Fresh water access for freshener treatment

Hello everyone - newbie here...
I have a 2005 Monaco Cayman and am used to putting a water freshener treatment in my potable water.
However - as before I could just pour it in - my cayman only seems to have line hookups and no visible 'spout'...
any suggestions?
Thanks so much
mark

If you have a whole house water filter remove filter and pour in the filter and fill the tank. The other option is fill up hose then connect and fill tank.

Welcome to iRV2.

Not unusual for coaches not to have a gravity fill for the fresh tank .

Most owners , will just pour the freshener into the city supply hose , then run from the city water hook up into the fresh tank , using the fill valve.

fresh water treatment

My filter is in the galley - how would it get directly back to the tank?
As for using the hose - I thought about that but I find it hard to believe that there isnt a better way on a Class A MH?
thank you for your help

You might look on Amazon for RV Inline Sanitizer.
I haven't ordered one yet but plan to soon.

Again, what I do is turn off the water supply and disconnect your fresh water hose,
- then hold the hose up in the air and let as much water drain out as possible. Then pour the treatment directly into your water supply hose, and then reconnect (without spilling). Turn the water supply back on.

Easy Peasy.

Welcome to the forum! There are many good forum members willing to provide help anytime!

With regards to your question, many diesel pusher motorhomes have ~100 gallon size fresh water tanks and as such the need rare to fill these big tanks via a "spout" and water cans (as would more frequently happen for a travel trailer with a 30 gallon water tank).

A "whole house" water filter that Spk64 mentioned is a permanently mounted "in line" filter to use when connected to fresh water in a RV park, at your home, etc. These filter look like this --> https://www.campingworld.com/culliga...3&gclsrc=3p.ds

Looking at the sales brochure for you coach, I don't see a whole house water filter mentioned so as you stated you don't have one --> www.monacocoach.com/resources/media/user/1469132246_brc_pdf.pdf

Your options for adding "water freshener" to your tank are:
1) After connecting the water hose to your coach, pour the freshner into the hose then connect the hose to the RV park / your home water faucet.
2) If you don't have a fresh water filter (using one is highly recommended) purchase the "whole house" filter with stand shown in the link to Camping World. Remove the filter housing, pour freshener into the housing, re-attached an turn on the water supply faucet.

The freshener I use is the Camco brand freshener (which is "potable water quality" bleach) --> https://www.campingworld.com/tastepu...ners-softeners 1/4 Cup of this "freshener" is all that is needed for a 100 gallon fresh water tank.

Hope you find this info useful!

I added another in-line canister filter at the water hose connection (between the hose and water inlet), so I have 2 stage filtration. I then use that canister to add sanitizer to the tank or water system directly.
