Diesel fuel comes with additives. Save your money. I was in Trucking for 34 years. Not needed

DaveyD1, welcome to iRV2.
The diesel engine manufacturers do not recommend any additives, and the vast majority of us do not use any additives.
However, those of us on opposite sides of this issue probably will never convince the other side to agree.

I have never used fuel additives. For coach fuel, I always use truck stops. This means I should be getting fresh fuel. I live in South Florida. We use the coach year around.

I live in a very small town where a man's word is known by everyone. My mechanic is a friend who I trust. He tells me he likes to use Howe's treatment and recommended it to me.That's what we're using now. HarveyP

We fulltime, and try to always buy fuel at busy truck stops. Still, you never know. Every six months or so I throw a container of Diesel Kleen in our old MCI bus. I've got another friend, a longtime mechanic, who routinely puts about a cup full of Marvel Mystery Oil in both the tank of his diesel motorhome and his gas powered Jeep.

I add 2 oz. of acytone to 10 gals of diesel fuel at every fill up. Every third tank I add a quart of transmission fluid to the tank.

To RV Wizard
Mike.
I've been thinking about you doing this ever since you posted a year or so ago. I see you are still happy with the results. Still getting better MPG with the acytone. Any special tune-up needed? s/Toby

Long ago aboard a Naval destroyer there was a boiler technician in the After Fireroom who routinely lit fires in his boilers with a crisp 20 dollar bill. His boilers always ran well.

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">The diesel engine manufacturers do not recommend any additives, </div></BLOCKQUOTE>But what about the injector pump manufacturers? Diesel fuel additives are not about the engine. They are about the injectors and injector pumps.

All part of the engine which is warranted by the engine manufacturer.
I believe that if additives kept down warranty costs, all the engine manufacturers would be recommending them.
