Fuel pricing
We took a short trip last weekend and got home late so I didn't stop and top off the fuel. I told the wife that tomorrow I'm going to take the coach back out and top off the tank while I can still buy diesel below 3 bucks a gallon. Here in our little town fuel prices are rising faster than the incoming tide in the middle of a cat. 5 hurricane.

The oil industry has been working hard to slow down production to get the prices up. But I don't think it's still not as high as this time last year.

Get out of here. Not in 31 days.
Market correction. Last year when oil was paying $41 a barrel to get rid of there oil. They started shutting down wells. They were losing money. Supply was up and demand was way down. Market correction.

Wonder if we will hit $5 a gallon like we did in 2008. That sure helped the economy NOT. Might be a precipitous decline in RV value?

Feb 25. 1850 miles back to Minnesota. Average gasoline price $2.79/gal.

The year we bought our first coach, gas was $4.50 /gal. Two years ago it was $3.50 and last year $2.00. If it stay under $3.00 this summer, I will be happy. Maybe the campgrounds won't be so crowded.

Earlier there was a brief period where diesel was cheaper than gas. Just like it used to be in the old days.

Yep, and if you took off the state and federal taxes, it was cheaper then bottled water. We paid as little as 1.22/ gallon.

The ice storms that devastated Texas, the heart of American petroleum industry, might have a just a bit of influence on fuel pricing this week. Just sayin....

We're paying over $5.00 per gallon here in The Great White North, so I can't wait until the border opens and I can afford to fill 'er up.

Diesel prices jumped from 2.49 to 2.89 in less than a week here just after the pipeline project announcement, before the ice storm. They have stayed pretty much there at the stations I pass. I can't say what the gas prices did, I don't own a gas burner so don't watch them.

The oil industry is not, in fact, slowing down. The opposite, actually. Activity is lower than it was a year ago but it takes a while to ramp back up.
Oil prices are higher than they were a year ago pre-COVID.
