Fueling information

Just upgraded to 3500hd…wondered if anyone with same unit had tried fueling at a truck stop (loves, pilot, etc). Needing to find out if truck diesel nozzle will fit in OEM filler neck. Sure would be easier than fighting traffic in the auto area when towing.

Fueling information

Thanks for that…I had tried with my 2017 2500 and the “lip” on the filler neck wouldn’t accept the larger nozzles, missing by about 1/32.

Pull into a truck stop and try it or some gas stations with diesel off to the side have high volume pumps as well.

Fuel up all the time with the Ram at truck stops, no issues. Also, I get DEF at the truck stops.

Because the fuel inlet for the Dodge/Ram Diesel trucks are sized for the highspeed truck stop fuel pumps. There was a time that some Ford and Chevy/GMC pick-up trucks were sized for the standard gas pump nozzle.

I know a friend of mine with a Chevy Diesel truck use too carry a funnel so, he could fill up at the truck stop fuel island when towing his 5er.

My Silverado will take the big rig nozzle, I had to use it at a small truck stop back in December when the regular diesel pump was OOS in the lane I was in.

Those flow a ton of fuel fast. You will likely have to fill slowly 1/4 -1/3 and let foam settle more when close to full. Those are a lot flow right into my 200 gal tank through 4" long 2" OD pipe right into tank.
