Same thing we do. Then refill the jugs as needed.

Most campgrounds have a separate hose for fresh water. Further away from the dumpstation.
The water bandits are normally used on faucets that to not have threaded fittings, like in a lot of state and national parks

We don't have a black tank flush on our '94 Fleetwood, and it's MUCH quicker using the hose straight into the tank.

Others seem to want to spend 30-40 minutes flushing, rinsing and storing hoses. That's their method and they'll never change but to each their own.

I'll save the clap back...
That's me as long as as there is nobody waiting.
Thanks for the info.

Water Bandit (Thief)
Purchased one of those adapters in 2015 and have never used it. Someday, but not yet.
Yes, purchased bottled water for drinking and coffee. Unfortunately, it's started to go up in price. Costco started carrying the large jugs in six packs and they are reasonably priced. You just got to shop.

We have a Puronics water system in our S&B. We take 6-7 gallons of water with us for drinking, etc.
Most Walmarts have Primo water refill stations. You can refill your own jugs.

Dump station?
We avoid the dump stations altogether by only going Full Hookup.

Potable water
Obviously we agree with the above, I would never take on water from a suspicious site or anything next to a dump station. OP was not going to do that either. However I disagree about never using potable water and buying water instead We've been rving for over 10 years, probably 100 campgrounds, never had difficulties. I guess there's always the first time, but we are willing to trust the public water supply in the US.

But then again, my body seems to tolerate a lot of things besides random tap water and I know people with weaker immune systems that have to be careful.
The older I become, the easier it is to realize one size doesn't fit all and internet forum short answers or questions rarely tell the whole story.

We carry bottles of water for drinking and cooking mostly because of the taste of the chemicals in most public water supplies.
Some are worse than others.

Many dump and fill stations have hoses with damaged or cut off threaded connections, so I keep 2 Water Bandits, one for fresh and one for black tank flush connections. But many times the water pressure will blow the Bandit off of the hose because it doesn't grip tight enough, so I put a hose clamp on it and tighten it to the hose.

We Bought a Water Thief back in 2007. Still in the package. Probably all dry rot by now as we've never had a need for it. Might be a wet surprise if I hook it up to a faucet after all these years.

I also bought one years ago as an emergency backup (but not as old as JFlightRisk!!).
I have only needed it one time at Lone Rock Beach Campground at Lake Powell.
But having it made all the difference. Threads on the potable faucet were shot and wouldn't hold a hose. Water Bandit made everything work fine! No idea how many miles I would have had to drive to find another faucet.
For those of you that have never used one, be aware that it's two-person job if the faucet has high water pressure. One person to hold the Water Bandit and make sure it doesn't come flying off the faucet, and one person to hold the hose into the water fill port.
