We don't regulate too well.
Before you know it there will be Ration Books for gas and oil, but it will all be "For the good of the country".

There will be surcharges for large vehicles, like RV's and SUV"s.

Our love of "Living the Good Life" is costing us and the suppliers of the things we need to live that life know full well that we will pay practically what ever it takes to keep that "Life Style".

Compared to the rest of the world ALL Americans live the life of the rich and famous. This is one of the things that angers foreigners.

We seem to like to through it in their face.

I feel there is a war on the horizon and it will hurt our "Life Style". I mean a real war, not a sudo police action like we have now.

I see also a social order of control coming that will attempt to quell the rising tide of discontent.

As soon as anyone mentions the word "Control", at least in America, I start to shiver a little. Also the word "Change", which is now the politically correct word of choice to be used by the media and Government.

For the time being just pay what they ask for gas and enjoy. Hopefully nothing will come of my silly and depressing prognostications.

If you are a "Progressive" (new word for Socialist) then then you will enjoy being one of the "Controllers".

I pray for the best.

Sorry to hear you have thrown in the towel and given up your RV. Let me see give up my RV or throw the politicians out of office first? Sorry congress you have to go.

Now is not the time to lay down in American and take on the wow is me state of mind. Now is the time for all good men and women, to stand up to the politicians in Washington and say enough is enough. Vote every SOB out of office that says no to nuclear power, and no to new refineries, and no to drilling in Alaska. Stop letting the politicians off the hook by pointing fingers at the oil companies. The politicians are not blameless here, as they would have you believe.

I live in New Jersey and say go ahead and drill off the coast of New Jersey. They have been doing it for years in the gulf. Look for alternative energy and technology but lets go in all directions at the same time.

Most of the recent run up, in the per barrel cost of oil, can be attributed to the large decline in the valuation of the US dollar on the world currency market.

Conversely, everything we export is currently "on sale" on the world market.

Unfortunately you 'see' all too well. Now that I've gained the experience to know that there are many ways to make the same mistake ... and studied man long enough ... I am amazed we made it through over 60 years without the world blowing up all over again.

Any fool willing to lay down his obsessions for a few minutes and noodle it out could have seen energy was going to be a problem once half the Third World started driving. Several follks did and wrote books about it. We might argue about the timing of it all but everybody knew there was a limit to how much oil was available.

So pols start using this as a lever to exert control over humanity. AND they make sure nothing real is done about it so the problem will surely get worse. They go so far as to brainwash children in government schools so that nothing can be done to alleviate the problem.

So now they really have us by the short hairs. We are thirty years behind the curve in providing the only solution that will save us from lack of oil .... nuclear.

These same craven monsters that would do this to us, not just us but effectively all mankind, solely for the sake of power, are about to take total control of the political reins here in the US .... just as militant islamism reaches critical mass and these pols are unwilling to deal with this situation. They send our youth into house to house combat when one small bomb would dot the trick. They'll take that philosophy to its bitter bitter end.

Its bad. Its real bad and its going to get a lot worse.

I pray for God's will to be done on earth.
