Gas-Stop Device

I had the new POL Gas-Stop device put in on our main propane tank on our Class A RV. It seemed like a great idea (at first) , However, I’m now considering removing it, why? Because it has become a royal pain in my tank .

Every time we do not use our propane for a while or it gets just a little cold (never freezing), we have to go outside (today in the rain at 66 degrees) and pump the gauge so the darn thing will let gas thru. Our system has been checked multiple times and we have had no leaks. Our detector has been tested and it is silent. We smell no gas and the local technician finds no leaks. The Gas-Stop instruction clearly state that several factors may stop gas flow including temperature and others. Now this has become a pain in my tank.
Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Addendum: Just for clarification, this is an internal tank and No the instructions were not known prior to purchasing. Only after opening the lovely plastic package and reading the long instructions.

I assume that is some kind of device to stop a huge gas discharge? I thought I have heard that MH's already have that kind of safety device.

Fixed LP tanks in motorhomes have an OPD device but I don't know about an excess flow device that prevents high rate discharges. DOT bottles have both, and the excess flow function can be problematic on those too.

Frankly, I think this device is a solution in search of a problem. It's conceivable there could be a major leak in a motorhome LP system, but it almost has to be downstream from the regulator where pressure is very low (under 0.5 psi). Not a huge geyser. They create worry by spreading fear of a gas leak, then sell you something to assuage the fear. There are hundreds of complaints listed here every day, yet none are about gas leaks in motorhomes.

https://gasstopusa.com/ I looked in to this after seeing an advertisement at an online RV supply store. It sounds like a great device. After reading the details I decided it was something I can feel comfortable without. I think I even posted about it in the RV appliances forum last year.

Like Gary said, a solution looking for a problem. Many folks are terrified (unjustifiably) about LP gas. Many product makers prey upon that fear.

I would simply remove the device and be done with it.

Thanks for the many replies. I agree this is most likely unnecessary and I am removing the Gas-Stop.
