What would you think of a gas pusher?

They re quiet and comfortable.

If it were in my budget I'd probably have diesel, for now it's a gasser

If coach the decision is really how big a coach are you getting. Smaller tend to be gas larger diesel with a little over lap in the middle.

There are a ton of small 22-27 foot diesels out there on the sprinter chassis alone.

That explains why all the truckers have a big smile on their faces. Riding next to a warm fuzzy diesel engine must be heaven.

Diesels are not good for short trips and lots of idling because of the long warm up and clogged emission systems. Gassers don't do as well with pulling heavy loads. For a tow vehicle, you just need to weigh how the TV is used. Another option is a gasser with turbos like the Ford Ecoboost. That has some benefits of diesel without the negatives.

A balanced view, SkiMuggs.

BTW, thank you for your service. Steel Tigers, right?

I would like to see the OP let us know how he intends to us an RV. Otherwise, this is just another gas vs. diesel ___________.

Who makes a gas pusher? I should think it would be nicer to drive than a gas puller, but at a cost that would approach that of a diesel, because a custom chassis would have to be designed and built, as opposed to the already existing truck chassis as most gassers are built on.

There was/is a chassis UFO
Didn't quite catch on and had some cooling issues.

I was going to go see a Georgie Boy that was a gas pusher but it sold before I got a chance to get to see it. I also heard that the chassis is still out there but the big GMC motor that it was supposedly for is no longer available.

Found one in Alberta for sale...

My justification was: I wanted a DP so I bought a DP. But then, once you get to 38' or so you almost have to get a diesel due to the weight. The last three DP's we bought were "our last one ever", that was in '00, '02 and now in '15 with the present rig.
And then life happens, late DW really never got to enjoy this rig or retirement.

I was thinking of Class A mainly and there smaller tend to be gas larger diesel. Do please note I never said all rather tend.

I don't see many asking this question about B's and C's. However, the assumption of A on my part was perhaps not totally valid.
