He apparently does not understand an Engine Brake (exhaust brake or jake brake)... really doesn't have anything to do with the "Air Brakes", other than saving brake pads.

Since the subject is gas vs. diesel, he only touched on the real reason for a few seconds. The rest of the video dealt with engine, door, seating and generator placements. In theory, a gas engine could be placed just the same way, but a diesel is used because of fuel effiency. Yes, a gas engine can be built in any horsepower you want, but fuel usage could be unacceptable.

A gas engine has more braking than a diesel, thus the necessity of adding exhaust or Jake brakes to diesels making them better than a gas engine in that regard.
